文章中段的撰寫 (八) 非人稱的形容詞

掌握八大詞類，是能否撰寫好文章的關鍵。一般同學對英語文法多粗疏忽略，很少仔細鑽研，下列為常見的錯誤：

1)      You all convenient to go home by bus.  O

2)      I am possible to come to your party tonight.  O

正確：

1)      It is convenient for you to go home by bus.  P

2)      It is possible for me to come to your party tonight. P

細心比較下，相信大家會發覺到某些形容詞，不能直接形容人，這些形容詞，我們稱之為 ‘Impersonal Adjectives’。常見的包括：

wonderful	harmful	difficult	exciting
satisfactory	easy	painful	shameful
delightful	necessary	interesting	surprising

若要把這些形容詞用於人身上時，必須用 ‘It is’ 作開始，比方：

1)      It is wonderful to be your student!

2)      It is painful for me to prepare for two important public examinations within a month.

題解及分析:  這題主要考同學能否於課文找decoration此詞匯, 並是否明白‘used to’有三種用法:

1.                  He is used to smoking. (後接動名詞, 意謂他一向習慣吸煙.)

2.                  He used to smoke. (後接不定詞, 意思相反: 以往他習慣吸煙, 但現時卻不吸了.

3.                  The pen is used to write with. (這支筆用於寫作). 此題便是第三種用法了.
